"I tried a representative sampling of our boats and found them all to fit nicely in the Acadia. The Penobscot also cradled all boats but much tighter than did the flat Acadia. All but our double could literally fit on either rack. ... High volume boats, wider boats fit but with less leeway... I feel you'd be safe recommending the Acadia for all but the narrowest of our boats. Likewise, shallower, narrow boats (Squall, Sirocco, perhaps our Andromeda, Splipstream, and Caribou) would work on the Penobscot as well.
